Mark Reid is a leader in music education with broad experience in teaching, consulting, and policy. He has recently worked as an educational technology consultant at SET-BC and as a Curriculum Coordinator at the Ministry of Education.
Mark has been an invited to speak across Canada, the US, and the United Arab Emirates about furthering the role of arts education in cultivating youth leadership, nurturing healthy community relationships, and as a vehicle for global citizenship education. He is known for work combining relational pedagogy into arts pedagogies as a means for modernizing instructional practice.
Mark is the recipient of a JUNO award as the 2013 MusiCounts teacher of the year, 2015 Global Teacher Prize finalist, is a Conn-Selmer Educational Clinician, and a Google for Education Certified Trainer. Mark is thankful to the Musqueam, Tsleil-waututh, and Coast Salish peoples on whose traditional territory he lives and learns.
